Apple Mail Setup

Configuring Apple Mail (Mac OS X 10.6) for Exchange @ UNT

If you are attempting to configure AppleMail for OS X 10.5 or earlier, use the standard IMAP settings for your settings. Enter search term "IMAP" in the input box to the left.

Step 1)  From the Mail Menu, select Preferences, and click the Accounts icon.

Step 2)  Click the "+" key located in the lower left part of the window to add a new account.

Step 3)  The Assistant will start by requesting your Full Name, Email Address, and your Password. Complete this information and click "Continue."

Note: After clicking continue you will be presented with the next screen, asking you to input your username. The name they are looking for is your EUID, which takes the form of EUID0001.

Step 4) Enter your EUID in the username field, and click continue.

Troubleshooting Tip: If you receive an error saying that your password is incorrect, but you know that what you are entering is in fact correct, enter your User name with the domain specified. For instance: UNT\euid0001. It is necessary to specify the AD domain if you have an Eagleconnect account.

SPECIAL UPDATE: March 2011 - The server address below will now read as legacy.unt.edu. After the migration to Exchange 2010, the server settings will assume their final position as EXCas1.ad.unt.edu.

Step 5) Click "Create" when you see the account summary appear. You may optionally select to synchronize your calendar and address book with Apple's iCal and Address Book applications.
