The Directory Services team maintains the design and architecture for the UNT System. We work in coordination with the UNT Health Science Center and UNT Dallas directory teams to provide support and replication services. Responsibilities include:database schema, global catalogs, indexes, sites, and replication topology; public-key infrastructure (PKI), server certificates for Windows servers, root certificates for client machines; forest and domain trusts; domain controller installation, upgrades, and maintenance.
We provide consulting and assistance to UNT System IT staff concerning best practices for using Active Directory, including topics like authentication via Kerberos or LDAP, integration of Linux and Mac systems, DNS integration, and various Active Directory management options (e.g. using various MMC snap-ins, PowerShell, and custom tools using LDAP).
The CITC Directory Services team is not responsible for individual accounts, printing, file/storage services, or electronic mailboxes. Such concerns are the responsibility of a distributed IT support group. See UNT Distributed IT Support Groups for more info.
